CITY OF LOGAN CITY COUNCIL MEETING 108 W. 4th STREET September 23rd, 2024 At 6:00 P.M. Mayor McDonald called the meeting to order. Agenda item 2 was the Pledge of Allegiance. Agenda item 3 was roll call. Council Members DeWitt, Hinkel, Moss, Sporrer and Mayor McDonald were present, Council Member Troshynski was absent. Agenda item 4 was to approve the agenda. Motion was made by Sporrer and seconded by Moss to approve the agenda. 4 ayes. Agenda item 5 was approve consent agenda which consisted of approving the minutes of the September 9, 2024 regular meeting and budget amendment public hearing, minutes of the September 12, 2024 special meeting, approve the claims register and building permits for Sharon Heim, 224 W 6th St, replace corner of basement and add stairs and door to basement; Cody Sears, 421 N Tower Rd, sidewalk and patio. Motion was made by Hinkel and seconded by Moss to approve the consent agenda. 4 ayes. Agenda item 6 was approve the 3rd and final reading of Ordinance #487: An ordinance amending the Logan City Code by amending Chapter 105, Solid Waste Control, Section 4, Open Burning. Agenda item 7 was Kathy Alvis to discuss the placement of the new emergency siren. Kathy discussed the placing of the siren behind her business. The Council and City Clerk will look into some options to help with the noise level at Kathy’s business. Agenda item 8 was approve a request from Peggy Kurth to reduce the sewer charges on the utility bill for 122 S. Maple Ave. due to a large water leak that did not go down the sewer. Motion was made by Hinkel and seconded by DeWitt to approve reducing the sewer charge by $619.88 contingent on a letter from the plumber. 4 ayes. Agenda item 9 was approve applying to the King Foundation for a grant. Motion was made by Hinkel and seconded by Sporrer to approve applying to the King Foundation for a grant. 4 ayes. Agenda item 10 was review the FY 2023-2024 Street Finance Report. Clerk Winther reviewed the report showing all the funds spent on streets from the street road use fund as well as any other funds on streets. Agenda item 11 was the Clerk’s report. Agenda item 12 was citizen’s questions/comments. No citizen comments.
