Roger E. Collier, 81

Roger Eugene Collier, age 81, passed away April 19, 2026, in Tekamah, Neb.

Roger was born July 14, 1944, in Council Bluffs, son of Edward Laurence and Lola (Strayer) Collier.

Roger attended Missouri Valley High School. After graduation in 1962, Roger worked for the railroad for nine years as a painter and farmed as well. In 1973, he married his wife of 53 years, Sharon (Swaters) Collier. They operated a dairy farm and produced grain and hay crops that sustained the dairy operation.

In 1996 when Roger could no longer continue the farming operation due to physical issues, he purchased a semi-truck and started long distance trucking, delivering heavy machinery all over the country. He enjoyed his time on the road, seeing a good part of the lower 48. In 2013 he purchased a grain trailer and began hauling grain locally to be closer to home.

Roger enjoyed spending time in his shop, visiting with friends, neighbors and family, and enjoying his own company.

Roger’s parents, Edward and Lola, two daughters, Kristen Collier, and Tabbatha Collier, and daughter-in-law Stacy Collier preceded him in death.

His wife Sharon (Swaters) Collier; children: Colleen (Jerry) Kingery, Anthony (Heather) Collier, Collette (Thomas) Young, Bryan Collier, James (Rebecca) Collier, Brenda Collier, and Jade (Justin) McEvoy; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings; Marge (Royce) Ingram, Edward (Buck) and wife Sandy Collier, Richard (Dianne) Collier, and Dennis (Virginia) Collier survive him in death.

Funeral Services were conducted Friday, April 24, 2026, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.
