Kathleen Ann Hanson passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at age 73, surrounded by her family and friends at the Madonna Rehabilitation and Long Term Acute Care Hospital in Lincoln Neb.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Nathan Hanson, of fifty-five years and five children, Jennifer Limpach (Hanson), Michael Hanson, Matthew Hanson, Mitchell Hanson, and Julia Hanson. Three daughter-in-laws, Kimberlie Hanson, Deborah Hanson, and Alex Malouf. She dearly loved her eight grandchildren, Cole, Ashtyn, Carter, Trace, Sullivan, Marina, Tayla, and Logan. She also had two step-grandchildren Michael and Miranda (Kimberlie).
Kathleen had a big heart who loved her children without limit and they loved her back equally as evidenced by their devotion to her throughout her life. She treasured her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as often as she could.
She cultivated and nurtured our family as she did her gardening and took care of our five acres. Mowing and planting numerous flower gardens, trees, with many other outdoor and indoor plants. She adored orchids and had good success growing them. She made everything beautiful and will be sorely missed.
She is the love of my life and has left this world for a greater reward. Our family, friends, and many acquaintances who are left to mourn her will also celebrate her life on or around Oct. 25th. Invitations will be sent out in the near future.

Kathleen was directly cremated at Sunset Funeral and Cremation Services - 2201 S. 132nd St. Omaha, Neb., per her wishes. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a tentative date of Oct. 25 2026. Invitations and or an announcement is forthcoming.
