RESOLUTION NUMBER 2024-05 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6-5 UTILITIES—BILLING CHARGES OF THE 2023 CITY OF MODALE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE IT ENACTED the City Council of the City of Modale, Iowa: SECTION 1. Section 6-5-8 amended to read as follows: 6-5-8 WATER RATES. Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per property serviced within the City limits: (Code of Iowa, Sec. 384.84(1)) The first 2,000 gallons $28.82 All over 2,000 gallons $0.75 per 100 gal. The minimum charge shall be $28.82 per household or business building per billing month. Water rates shall increase by 3% on January 1st for years 2025, 2026, and 2027. SECTION 2. Section 6-5-9 amended to read as follows 6-5-9 SEWER RATES. There shall be sewer service charges for the use of and for the service rendered by the sewer system based upon the meter readings for the amount of water consumed as follows: Flat fee of $40.00 The minimum charge shall be $40.00 per household or business building per billing month. Sewer rates shall increase by 3% on January 1st for years 2025, 2026, and 2027. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not effect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effective upon its passage and publication, as required by law.
