Marjorie Hatcher, 88

Marjorie Hatcher (Meyer) of Missouri Valley, wife of the late Herbert McHugh and Richard Hatcher, received her angel wings at the age of 88 on Oct. 5, 2025, at Azria Health Longview surrounded by her family.

Marge was born on April 24, 1937. She was the sixth of seven children. She worked at Mutual of Omaha, Community Memorial Hospital, and retired at Northwestern Bell in 1998.

Marge married Herbert McHugh in 1957, and to that union three sons were born, Randy, Rick, and Russell. Herbert passed away in 1960, and Marge was remarried to Richard Hatcher in 1983.

Marge enjoyed knitting, making hats for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and for the high school girls sports teams. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and square dancing.

Marge did not know a stranger, never had an unkind word for anyone, and loved having her family and friends around her. She was known for her beautiful heart, and she loved big.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret Meyer; brothers, Irv Kruse, and Kenny Meyer; sisters, Cathy Stone, Anne McHugh, Dorothy Phillippe; and granddaughter Erin McHugh.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Valerie) McHugh, Rick (Susie) McHugh, and Russell (Tracy) McHugh; her sister Ethel Hearn; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In accordance with Marge’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Family and friends are

encouraged to remember Marge in their own way in quiet reflection or by sharing a memory with

others.
