Linda Nadean Gute, the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Carper) Elwood, was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Red Oak. She peacefully passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Country House Residence in Council Bluffs, at the age of 82.
Linda is survived by her children: Amy Salas (Danny) of St. Michael, Minn.; Janet Shearer (Travis) of Mondamin; Jeffrey Gute of Mondamin; David Gute (Jodi) of Carson; and Scott Gute (Emilee) of Elkhorn, Neb.; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Vavra of Modale. Grandchildren: Kori Schulenberg (Drew) of Lincoln, Neb.; Harrison Gute of Modale; Mia, Megan, and Max Salas of St. Michael, Minn.; Morgan Jackson (Trent) of Estes Park, Colo.; Mason Shearer of Little Sioux; Emma, Lea, and Owen Gute of Mondamin; Isabella, Reese, and Harper Gute of Carson; and Augustus and Collin Gute of Elkhorn, Neb. Great-granddaughter: Cosette Schulenberg of Lincoln, Neb. Siblings: Gordon Elwood of Glenwood; Mary Kille of Grand Prairie, Texas; Jean Pope of Omaha, Neb.; and Judy Blay of Villisca.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at the Modale Methodist Church from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Modale Methodist Church at 10 AM. There will be a luncheon following the interment.
