Final Public Notice -Impacts to Floodplains City of Pisgah – Water System Improvements Pisgah, Iowa The City of Pisgah, Iowa in Harrison County intends to seek financial assistance from USDA, Rural Development, Rural Utilities Service for costs of improvements to their municipal water system. The proposed project consists of new site piping, new electrical and controls, and a new generator at the well site; new site piping at the ground storage tank and new water distribution mains, hydrants and services; and new water meters will be installed. If implemented, the project will construct new site piping at the well and ground storage tank sites. Electrical gear, pumps and controls will be replaced at both of the wells. Emergency standby power will be constructed at the well house to allow backup power for both wells. New 6” distribution water mains, hydrants, services and meter pits will be constructed. In accordance with Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management and USDA Departmental Regulation 9500-3, Land Use Policy, the purpose of this notice is to inform the public of this proposed conversion or effect and request comments concerning the proposal, alternative sites or actions that would avoid these impacts, and methods that could be used to minimize these impacts. The environmental documentation regarding this proposal is available for review at the USDA Rural Development office location at 511 W. 7th Street, Atlantic, Iowa 50022.
