WEST HARRISON COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION MONTHLY MEETING – 6:30 PM February 11, 2026 LIBRARY – MONDAMIN, IA The West Harrison Community School District Board of Education met in regular session with the following present: Randy Wohlers, Julie Kuhlman, Hillary Stevenson, John Glennie and Tammy Flint. Directors. Marty Fonley, Superintendent, Jackie Fonley, Principal, Tonya Radil, Board Secretary/Treasurer Visitors. Whea Representative Jami Sherer Called to Order. The meeting was called to order in the Library at 6:30 p.m. by President Wohlers. Roll Call. Consent Agenda. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Glennie to consent to the agenda, the monthly bills, and the board minutes from January 14, 2026. No Discussion. A motion was made by Director Stevenson and seconded by Director Flint to approve the resignations of Troy Maasen (High School Golf) and Julius Michalik (Junior High Track), and to approve the following hires: Stephanie Lee (Para educator/Substitute Teacher), Amy Michalik (High School Boys/Girls Golf), Julius Michalik (High School Boys/Girls Soccer), Steve Forbes (High School Girls Track), Jason Allen (High School Boys Track), and Troy Maasen (Junior High Boys/Girls Track). No Discussion. Directors: Wohlers aye, Kuhlman aye, Stevenson aye, Glennie aye, and Flint aye. 5-0 motion carried. Consideration of FY 25-26 Fundraisers. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Stevenson to approve the FCCLA Valentine Grams for their Star event, with proceeds to be donated to Trivium Life Services. No Discussion. Directors: Wohlers aye, Kuhlman aye, Stevenson aye, Glennie aye, and Flint aye. 5-0 motion carried. Consideration of Public Hearing Dates for the 2026-27 School Budget. A motion was made by Director Flint and seconded by Director Glennie to approve the public hearing dates for the fiscal year 2026-27 budget. The first hearing will be held on March 26th in the West Harrison High School Library at 5:30 pm. The second public hearing will be held on April 8th in the West Harrison High School Library at 6:30 pm. No discussion. A motion was made by Director Glennie and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve the public hearing date for the 2026-27 school calendar. The public hearing for the FY 2026-27 school calendar will be held on March 11th at 6:30 pm in the West Harrison High School Library. No discussion. Directors: Wohlers aye, Kuhlman aye, Stevenson aye, Glennie aye, and Flint aye. 5-0 motion carried. Consideration of 1st Reading Board Policy 905.1R2. No action is needed at this time. Consideration of Track Rental for the 2026 Season. The Logan-Magnolia CSD reached out to Mr. Fonley about the possibility of renting the track for high school practices. After discussion, a motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Flint to approve a track rental fee of $75.00 per hour with a two-hour minimum, plus $20.00 per day custodial fee to keep restroom facilities clean. This would only provide access to the track without equipment like hurdles, high jump mats, etc. If lights, equipment, or other areas were needed, they would be a separate cost. The district would also charge a $100 one-time fee related to custodial time to prepare the facility in advance for the spring track season. Additional items could be rented for additional cost. Additional custodial costs for cleanup of the facility would be billed at $20 per hour as needed. This item has been tabled at this time. Consideration of 7-12 All Sports Sharing with Missouri Valley CSD for the 2026/27 School Year. A motion was made by Director Glennie and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve the sharing of all sports 7-12 with Missouri Valley CSD for the FY 2026-27 school year. Discussion. A motion was made by Director Glennie and seconded by Director Stevenson to approve the purchase of a snow plow from Blizzard Boys. Discussion.
