PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2024 MISSOURI VALLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY 8:00AM The Planning and Zoning board met at 8:00 a.m. on September 30, 2024, at the Missouri Valley Public Library. Present were Board members: Dennis Smith, Daryl Fichter, Mike Dworak, Mike Nielsen and Minnie Fisher. Also present were visitors: Patty Stueve, Linda Summers, Jerry Summers, John Harrison, Mark Pogge, Karla Pogge and Kevin Taylor. Smith called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m. Motion to approve Agenda, excluding item #4, for September 30, 2024 made by Dworak, second by Fichter. Motion passes. Discussion was had on re-zoning Lot Seven (7) and lot Eight (8) in Block Eighty-four (84) in Missouri Valley Real Estate and Improvement Company’s First Addition to the Town of Missouri Valley, Harrison County, Iowa and the East Fifteen feet (E. 15’) and the West Fifteen feet (W. 15’) of the abandoned County Ditch between lots Eight (8) and Nine (9) in Block (84) in Missouri Valley Real Estate and Improvement Company’s First Addition to Missouri Valley, Harrison County, Iowa. Located at 409 W Erie Street and 409 ½ W Erie Street. Daytona is requesting a zoning change from RD60 (Duplex Residence) to BGH (Heavy General Business Zone) for Auto Repair. The Planning and Zoning Board suggest to Council that the request is to be DENIED. Motion made by Fisher, second by Nielsen. Motion passes. Discussion was had on re-zoning Lot Seven (7) Block Eighty-Three (83) in Missouri Valley Real Estate and Improvement Company’s First Addition to the Town of Missouri Valley, Harrison County Iowa. Located at 323 W Erie Street for discussion on proposed zoning change from RD60 (Duplex Residence) to allow for Business use of BGC (Central Business Zone). The Planning and Zoning Board suggest to Council that the request is to be DENIED. Motion made by Dworak, second by Fichter. Motion passes. John Harrison discussed new Zoning Ordinance changes and updates. This discussion will continue in future meetings. Discussion was had on the Missouri Valley Comprehensive Plan. John Harrison is working on putting together a Steering Committee, and will continue discussion in future meetings. Planning and Zoning Board agreed to meet October 28, 2024 at 8 a.m. Motion to adjourn at 9 a.m. made by Fisher, second by Dworak. Motion passes. MVTN 10-9-24
