The Mondamin Community Center will play host to a specially called Harrison County GOP Convention to determine the winner of the local Board of Supervisors’ race, nearly a month after the original June 4 primary polling date.
The convention will be July 1 at 7 p.m.
Here are the results from the June 4 primary:
Danny Cohrs (R – Logan): 422 votes (32.29%)
Rebecca Wilkerson (R – Mondamin): 393 votes (30.16%)
Lary Clark (R – Mondamin): 286 votes (21.95%)
Alex Meyer (R – Modale): 176 votes (13.51%)
Bill Nelsen appeared on the ballot and received 23 votes despite dropping out of the race due to personal matters.
Since a winner cannot be conveyed unless a candidate receives at least 35% of the vote, the aforementioned convention must be convened and attended by delegates who represent the county's 11 precincts.
A notification of at least 10 days must be given in advance of the convention, hence the delay in releasing the date. The Times-News will have more information on the convention in next week's paper.
