Modale to celebrate sesquicentennial this weekend

Don't miss out on the fun this Saturday in Modale as the town marks its sesquicentennial celebration. Here's a list of things to do and see in Modale this weekend.

10 a.m.: Parade (lineup at gas station at 9 a.m.)

11 a.m.: Dedication at the Honor Roll Square

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Activities and fun in the Modale park

12 – 2 p.m.: Freewill donation lunch

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Time Capsule contents, history and photos at the Grand Lodge and Arts building

3 p.m.: Modale History Quiz Bowl – Methodist Church Community Center

6 p.m.: Steak dinner prepared by the Modale Fire Department at the American Legion (fee includes entrance to the street dance)

7 – 12 p.m.: Street Dance – Pink Kadillac outside the American Legion hall, sponsored by the Modale Fire Department

The event will also have raffles, silent auction for five-by-eight trailer, more than 20 vendors and appearances from the Tangier Shriners and Destruction Dance Team.
