Woodbine’s Scichilone enters IFCA Hall of Fame
The Iowa Football Coaches Association honored new members to the 2025 Hall of Fame every season.
The IFCA Hall of Fame honor is one of the highest recognitions that a coach can receive, as they honor the coaches who have excelled both on and off the field, who have impacted players, schools, communities, and the game of football in Iowa.
MARSHALL SCICHILONE
A native of Pennsylvania who arrived in Iowa after attending Iowa Wesleyan University (Mount Pleasant), Schichlone went 154-77 in 24 years as a head coach at St. Albert (1980-96) and Woodbine (1997-2004).
His teams appeared in eight playoffs, including six with St. Albert while playing in the Nebraska Centennial Conference, then two with Woodbine. The Tigers reached the Class A state title game in 1997, which remains the Tigers’ best finish.
Two of his teams went unbeaten in the regular season (1991, 1997) and Scichlone capped his run as a head coach with a final playoff run in 2004.
The list of new inductees include Drew Clevenger (St. Ansgar), Roger Janssen (SC Bishop Heelan), Curt Ritchie (English Valley), and Marshall Scichilone (St. Albert, Woodbine).
