Logan-Magnolia battled, but came up short in a 42-0 setback to Woodbury Central in Class A, District 8 action on Oct. 9 in Logan.
“Hats off to Woodbury, they are as good as advertised,” stated Head Coach Jack West. “We slowed their run game initially, but they have too many weapons, and we didn’t execute as well as we needed to.”
Offensively, Ashton Peszulik (43 yards), Crosby Yoder (33 yards) and Max Wingert (44 yards) led the rushing attack. Peszulik (46 yards passing) spread the ball around to five different receivers.
Defensively, Wade Hawkins (4.5 tackles), Zach Diggins (4 tackles), and Crosby Yoder (4 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) led the solid defensive effort.
“This group of seniors have been phenomenal since day one, with their work ethic, leadership and commitment to LoMa football and tradition,” stated West concluded. “This group will refocus on the task at hand, as they learn and prepare for another big one this week. They don’t want this to be the final game together, and a win put us in the playoffs. There is a lot on the line late in the season.”
Up Next (Oct. 16): Logan-Magnolia (2-3, 4-3) will travel to Akron-Westfield in the regular season finale on Oct. 16 at Akron.
