Three girls capture State Medals

The Harrison County schools proved they belonged with the state’s elite at the 2026 Iowa Girls State Wrestling Championships on Feb. 5-6 at X-Tream Arena in Coralville.
MISSOURI VALLEY
Missouri Valley qualified three individuals, and all three gained valuable experience.
MV’s freshman sensation Madi McCall scored a fifth place finish in her first state appearance, earning the Lady Reds’ seventh state medal in school history.
Lexa Vinsonhaler had two difficult match-ups early, as she dropped her first two matches.
MV’s two-time state qualifyer, Ryley Marcum, finished one step short of the state medal stand, but she closed an outstanding career as the school record holder for career wins and career pins.
LOGAN-MAGNOLIA/WOODBINE
Logan-Magnolia/Woodbine had three individual qualifers, and they returned with two state medalists.
Teagan Carritt, a sophomore, earned her second straight appearance in the state championship match, but came up short in her bid for consecutive state titles.
Mary Bowman, a senior, capped off her outstanding career with a pin in her final match as a Panther, earning a seventh place state medal.
Gracyn Stone, a junior, had tough match-ups early, dropping her first two matches in her first state appearance.
