UBI donates funds to Boyer Valley Elementary

The United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,031 to the Boyer Valley Elementary School’s for low-income families, providing children with basic clothing items they may need. This money was raised during UBI’s ‘United Together, Makes a Difference Cause Day’ effort.

The goal of ‘United Bank of Iowa Cause Day effort is to give employees the opportunity to make a difference and support people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Friday’s of each month, UBI employees from all 36 locations have the option to donate $5 to wear their United Together T-Shirts, with jeans, to work. The bank matches the employee donation up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions from all 36 locations.

The Boyer Valley Elementary School’s program for low income families was the lucky recipient of UBI’s September, 2025 drawing. The donation will help them serve families in the Dunlap, Dow City and Arion area by providing clothing, with the goal of adding winter coats, mittens and shoes as well. Faculty recognize students in need, and alert the representatives who manage the program anonymously.

Since Sept., 2020, UBI has donated $253,368 to 120 different causes in the immediate area through the Cause Day effort. For more information, visit www.unitedbk.bank.
