The Missouri Valley Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fire at 319 E. Superior St. at 12:58 p.m. last Wednesday.
According to Fire Chief Angel Nies, firefighters arrived to the scene at 1:06 p.m., controlled the fire by 1:38 p.m. and left the scene at 2:34 p.m.
Fortunately, Nies said, many individuals were off work due to the extreme cold that day, so the fire was taken care of quickly. Nies shared that the fire was in the garage and the structure was able to be preserved.
Fire departments from Logan, Magnolia, Mondamin and Modale provided mutual aid to the site.
According to Nies, the fire investigator did check out the scene, but no cause has been reported yet.
