Primary election ballot set
The Harrison County Primary Election was held on June 2 across the area. There are a total of 9,474 registered voters in Harrison County, and 2,223 filled out ballots (23.46 pct.).
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Two seats were open, and Brian Rife (40.4 pct.) and Michelle Stirtz (29.2 pct) earned spots on the ballot, with Lary Clark (28.4 pct) earning a close third.
UNOPPOSED RACES - Republican
Five individuals received the required number of votes to earn their spot on the ballot, including, County Treasurer, Sheila Phillips (97.4 pct.), County Recorder, Felecia Geith (98.4 pct.), State Treasurer, Roby Smith (99.4 pct.), Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig (99.4 pct.), Attorney General, Brenna Bird (98.8 pct.)
STATE REPRSENTATIVE, District 15 (Republican)
Jason Sherer (71.7 pct.) picked up enough votes, with Toni Waite (21.2 pct) and Bryan Jack Holder (5.9 pct.) landing in the top three.
DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Democratic Representative, District 4, saw a close race, with Stephanie Steiner (37.9 pct.) edging Dave Dawson (31.7 pct.) and Ashley WolfTomabane (29.7 pct.).
UNOPPOSED RACES – Democrats
Earning spots on the November ballot include Rob Sand, Governor (99.4 pct.); Ryan Peterman (99.4 pct.), secretary of state; Taylor Wettach (99.6 pct.), auditor; John Norwood (99.6 pct.), tresurer; Chris Jones (99.6 pct.), secretary of agriculture; Nate Williams (99.6 pct.), attorney general; State Representative, District 15, Benjamin Schauer (97.8 pct.).
Once the ballots are confirmed and approved, these names will appear on the Harrison County ballot set for Nov., 2026.
