MVHS Alumni Banquet set for June 26, 27
Plans have been made, letters have been sent out, and reservations have been made. There will be the Alumni Banquet set for Saturday, June 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the high school. But there is several gatherings planned for Friday night, June 26.
Thanks to the MVHS Class of 1976 (50th year) for stepping up and organizing with the Eagles Club and hiring a band for the evening of Friday, June 26. The Eagles Club opens at 4 p.m., and the band, Rock ‘N Roll Cowboyz, will be playing from 8 – 11 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge at the door to help offset costs, and anything extra helps too!
All classes welcome, open to the public, come and “welcome home” to everyone!
Alumni Classes participating this year are 1951 (75th year), 1966, 1976 (50th year), 1986, 1991, 2006 and 2016. Special thanks go out to the class representatives who have been putting in the work to make this happen foreveryone!
On Saturday, some classes have made plans for daytime activities, with the late afternoon bringing everyone to the high school. Self-guided tours start at 5:30 PM with Christie Gochenour, the current MVCSD superintendent on hand for questions. Pasta buffet dinner starts at 6:30 PM in the gym.
Catering by Pizza Ranch of Mo Valley. There will be a welcome and invocation to start the evening and helpers for those needing assistance at the buffet. After the banquet, most classes have arranged to meet up somewhere to keep the weekend of coming together going.
Other scheduled events for classes include:
Class of 1966: Saturday, June 27 at the Rand Community Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Coffee, pastries, and fruit will be served while catching up.
Class of 1976: Besides hosting the Friday (June 26 event at the Mo Valley Eagle’s Club), they are having a luncheon picnic at Groom’s Hall in the Mo Valley City Park beginning at 11:30 AM. After the alumni banquet, the class will head to the Logan-Mo Valley Country Club for more reminiscing.
Class of 1986: Will be hosted by Mark & Sara Guinan at their home after the alumni banquet.
Class of 1991: Will continue their alumni festivities at the Aeroplane Inn in Honey Creek after the banquet.
