Moorhead Cultural Center Art Show winners announced
Competition was between four Western Iowa Community Schools: Boyer Valley, Charter
Oak-Ute, West Harrison and West Monona which were divided into three separate age groups.
Pam Cates, from Missouri Valley, our honorary judge, chose the following for the
Kindergarten through 4th grades: 1st) Briggs Maach, 2nd grade, Charter Oak-Ute, “Cattle Trailer”, with a medium of watercolor and marker; 2nd) Charles Lavender, 4th grade, Charter Oak-Ute , “Art”, created with Sharpies; 3rd) Emmerie Meade, 3rd grade, Charter Oak-Ute, “Pumpkin Cat”, created with colored pencils and sharpies.
All entries were original designs and the students worked in the medium of their choice.
These young artists designs and the other 41 original pieces can be viewed at the
Moorhead Cultural Center, in Moorhead, IA. May 1 through June 14, 2026, from 1 - 4 p.m. on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, or by appointment, calling Diann Iversen at 712 880-1185.
