The second annual Logan Gala was held on March 21 at the Calvary Falls Events Center, and it added up to another successful step in the right direction.

AWARD WINNERS

Logan Community Foundation Board President Brianne Niedermyer stated, “All four of these worthy candidates/winners were chosen based upon what they chose to invest into the community. They can be counted on, and are invested into growing our community.”

Dion Pitt, Logan Super Foods (Business of the Year): He is invested to his community, whether it is offering a kid their first job, lending a hand or making a donation, he is there for Logan.

Mitch Flaherty (1st Responder of the Year): He not only helps keep our community and town safe, he also takes it to the next level. Whether he is playing flag football with the elementary kids before school or being the first one on the scene of a tragic situation. His care and compassion are top notch and first rate.

Tami Dunham (Educator of the Year): She has spent more than three decades teaching our students not only what the state requirements are, but also teaches them about responsibility, open communication and what it’s like to have another cheerleader in their corner.

Molly Green (Volunteer of the Year): She has dedicated years of her life giving back to her community through a variety of different areas, and she has always done it with a smile on her face and love in her heart. Her kindness, compassion and faith are things that make her stand out.

FUNDRAISER SUCCESS

Totals were still being calculated Monday, but the Logan Community Foundation raised over $20,000, on Saturday evening and donations prior to the event.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Logan Community Foundation was formed in 2024, recognizing a need for a stronger connection between the city, the school, and the chamber—three pillars that, when united, can create something truly special.

In August 2024, we officially established our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and since then, we’ve been working diligently to build something meaningful for our community. Along the way, we’ve hosted four successful chicken dinners, a chili cook-off, and our first annual Gala last March—events that not only brought people together, but also helped raise funds for future initiatives.

Last year, we stood here and shared that we had $10,000 in our account. This year, that number has grown to $34,358.84.

To some, that may not seem like a significant amount—but when you start from nothing, it represents real progress, real support, and real belief in what we’re building. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and it motivates us to keep growing and continue pouring back into the community we all care so deeply about.

In 2025, we set a mission, vision and core values for our Foundation to adhere to.

Mission: Enhancing quality of life in Logan by bringing together people and resources to support, fund, and empower local projects that create lasting, positive changes.

Vision: A thriving Logan where strong community connections and economic vitality inspire residents to invest in our shared future.

Values: The Logan Community Foundation believes strong communities are built on CIVIC Values:

CIVIC VALUES

* C - Community First: We prioritize initiatives that strengthen Logan and benefit the entire community.

* I – Integrity: We steward community resources with transparency, responsibility, and trust.

* V – Viability: We invest in projects that ensure Logan remains strong and thriving for generations.

* I – Innovation: We welcome new ideas and creative solutions that help our community grow.

* C – Collaboration: We believe lasting progress happens when neighbors, businesses, and organizations work together.

Last year we mentioned that our long-term vision is to grow our funds to support local projects, provide grant-matching opportunities, and eventually fund our own initiatives that will benefit the community. Through collaboration and continued support, we aim to create a foundation that fosters growth, opportunity, and positive change.
