The Logan Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept. will host an Open House this weekend during ‘Shiverfest’ activities, Nov. 21-22, at the Fire Hall.

“It’s been a long process for everyone involved,” stated Logan Fire Chief, Craig Charbonneau. “But we are thankful to have received a ton of community support.”

The Logan VFD bought the land from the Damien Gross estate, and the volunteers and community went to work. Through building grants, the Jim Wood Foundation, donations, CDs through Washington County Bank, it was a much needed upgrade.

“We’ve been in the old hall (N 3rd St.) since the early 1960’s, and a lot has changed since then,” Charbonneau stated. “The new hall is a size-and-a-half bigger than the old building, as we now have additional space for our 10 units and two UTVs.”

The Logan VFD currently has 45 volunteers and EMTs on its squad.

Tours and dinner will be offered on both Friday, Nov. 21 (5 – 7 p.m.), and Saturday, Nov. 22 (7 a.m. – 11 a.m., breakfast), with the official ‘Flag Raising’ ceremony being held at 10 a.m.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
