Lo-Ma students throw strike toward community service
Besides greeting friends and teachers at the first day back to school, the Logan-Magnolia students ‘Clean-Up’ the area communities with their annual Back to School Service Project to start the school year. This project started back in 2015, and has been well received throughout the community.
“It’s a way we can give back to the community that supports us year round,” stated advisor Delaney Aquallo. “We send out notices to the community, via social media, at the end of July, looking for any families that need help in yard or house work, or community projects.”
This year, approximately 300 students between the 6th grade all the way through high school, were out on the town assisting with fall clean up projects around Logan, Magnolia, and surrounding area.
Some of the projects include, Homes in Logan, the City of Magnolia, The Harrison County Welcome Center, projects around the school, The Woodbine nursing home, the Logan Cemetery, The Logan Fire Hall, were just some of the 19 project locations they spruced up this fall.
