MEGAN McDONALD
CITY/TOWN: Logan
CANDIDATE FOR: Logan-Magnolia School Board
EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: I am a community member who moved back to Logan a year and a half ago with my husband and our 3 children. I work in Marketing for John Deere and currently volunteer on the Logan Iowa Community Foundation.
WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? I ran for the Logan-Magnolia School board because I am a parent of young children in the district and I believe in helping lead improvements to an already strong district.
WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? I have served on a variety of volunteer boards and organizations, even in my youth. I work in communications and I think that being an active parent of children in the school system and as a member of the community qualifies me for this position. As someone who did not grow up in Logan but in another small town in Iowa I provide an outside perspective with small town values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? My goal if elected is to continue to help the school make improvements, on both a small and large scale, and build on the strong foundation that Logan-Magnolia already has. I look forward to meeting more people and continuing to volunteer my time and skills to better the school system from elementary through high school.
