CANDIDATE FOR: Woodbine School Board

EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: I have lived in Woodbine most of my life.  I grew up in Woodbine and graduated from the Woodbine Community School.  I moved to Independence, Missouri after college for 14 years, and then moved back to Woodbine and have lived here ever since. I started my career at a manufacturing company in Kansas City, Missouri, working in both Production Control and Information Technology for 13 years.  In 1996, my family and I moved back to Woodbine and worked for a Computer Consulting company in Omaha, where I spent 24 years. I retired in 2019 from my career in the Information Technology field, which has spanned for over 35 years both in technical and management roles. I have also been farming part-time north of Woodbine for 35 years, flight instructing part-time for the past 40 years, and been an adjunct instructor at IGNITE for the past three years. My wife and I have raised our three children in Woodbine, which are all graduates of the Woodbine Community School.  We currently have five grandchildren we enjoy spending time with.

WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? I feel I can use my diverse experience to help make a difference to the school.

WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? I have worked in both leadership and management roles in my career.  This diverse background helps me in the role of school board member.  I have also attended several courses for school board members over the last five years.

WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? To ensure the school is sustained financially, it hires and retains the best staff, along with providing the most effective education for our students.
