LARISSA KUKER

CITY/TOWN: Dunlap

CANDIDATE FOR: City Council

EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: I grew up in Dunlap and graduated from Boyer Valley Schools in 2003. I furthered my education graduating from DMACC and Iowa State University. My husband and I moved back to Dunlap in 2014 to raise our two sons. I am a local business owner and independent financial contractor. I currently serve as treasurer for the 4 County Fair Board and have served on other boards in the area previously.

WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? I am running for city council because I feel that there are areas that I could lend strength to.  I am grateful for our community  and would like to see it flourish.

WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? Working in banking I have a solid understanding of finance and real estate. As a small business owner I have an understanding of staffing, budgets, hard work and going the extra mile.

WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? Infrastructure improvement and housing.  We have many great things going on in our community. We have a large number of volunteers and volunteer led programs and events; people love to live here! I am constantly hearing about housing shortages, friends, family members and young people wanting to move back - great news! To keep that spirit alive we need to keep improving the infrastructure (streets, alleys, water and sewer) and make progress adding housing options in the community.
