CANDIDATE FOR: City Council
EXPLAIN WHO YOU ARE: Hello, I’m April Armstrong, member of the town of Pisgah since 2017, but have lived in the surrounding area most of my life. I retired from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance in Omaha, Ne in 2016 where I held positions as Payment Specialist, Accounting Dept, Risk Management and Fraternal Benefits.
WHY DID YOU RUN FOR THIS POSITION? The reason I am running for city council is to bring a voice to the citizens of Pisgah, as well as transparency. I want to encourage the citizens of Pisgah to engage in the council meetings. There are citizens of Pisgah that know first hand how the council sometimes discourages their voices in the meetings.
WHAT FROM YOUR BACKGROUND QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS POSITION? Having a background in insurance and Risk Management would be beneficial to the city of Pisgah, especially if there were an emergency.
WHAT ARE YOU GOALS IF ELECTED? I believe the council should be the voice of Pisgah’s citizens. I want the citizens to be able to present any questions they may have without fear of repercussions from anyone in the community or the council.
