Harrison County Supervisors Meeting June 26, 2025 Chairman Brian Rife called the meeting to order with members Tony Smith and Rebecca Wilkerson in attendance. The motion to approve the tentative agenda was made by Wilkerson, second by Smith. Motion carried. Motion to approve minutes from June 19th by Smith, second by Wilkerson. Motion carried. Attendance: Shelia Phillips, Dave Sims, Paul Rhoten, Deputy Auditor Taryn Wegner County Engineer Engineer Sims gave updates on classes he’ll be attending as well as the office year end process. Sims presented some maintenance logs for the board to review. Wilkerson asked for updates on the mowing without the summer help. Rife brought up an idea of purchasing a patch machine in the future. Board members asked about a road in Melody oaks needing attention, Sims agreed to look into it. The board talked about brush/weed control in some ditches. Sims inquired about a resolution about only using limestone on the roads. Handwritten Warrant to US Bank The Board reviewed the presented handwritten warrant to US Bank in the amount of $18,482.54. Motion to approve by Wilkerson, second by Smith. Motion carried. Liquor License for Lucky Wife Wine Motion to approve license for Lucky Wife Wine Slushies by Smith, second by Wilkerson. Motion carried. Review C&R Agreement The Board reviewed the presented levy approvement agreement for the C&R Drainage District. Comments Rife updated the board members about the DOT construction in the county’s Old Soldier Drainage District. The DOT has a policy, and they violated it by not contacting the County before starting construction in the district. Construction will be put on hold until an agreement between the DOT and the District can be made. Wilkerson gave comments on the DARE golf tournament and annual Conservation meeting. With business of the day completed, the Board adjourned on a motion by Smith, second by Wilkerson. Motion carried.
