Woodbine scored on their first six possessions and rolled to a 54-0 win over East Mills on Senior Night on Sept. 25 at Henry Boone Field in Woodbine.
“Our defense flew to the ball, as our defensive line had their best game of the season,” stated Head Coach Dustin Crook. “Our special teams had a blocked punt, and our offense worked on a short field a majority of the night.”
Defensively, Brock Crook (6.0 tackles), Jacob Cogdill (3.5 tackles) and Quinton Heistand (2.5 tackles) led a solid defensive attack. Lawson Bendgen (1.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) and Ben Kelly (1.5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) added one fumble recovery apiece.
Cal Pryor (162 yards passing, 4 TDs / 61 yards rushing, 2 TDs) directed the offense, as Ayden Coenen (TD), Landon Blum (2 TDs) and Brayden Blum (1 TD) all had touchdown receptions.
“We have a couple big tests ahead of us, so we just need to keep maintaining our standard, and improve every week,” Crook concluded. “If we keep doing our job, we’ll be prepared for what’s ahead.”
Up Next (Oct. 2 / Oct. 9): Woodbine (4-0, 5-0) will travel to Coon Rapids-Bayard on Oct. 2, and be at Boyer Valley on Oct. 9.
