Third quarter sends Panthers past Rebels
Westwood scored on the final drive right before the first half ended, and the Rebels appeared to have life. But Logan-Magnolia slammed that door with two impressive scoring drives to start the second half, posting a 34-13 win over Westwood in Class A, District 8 action on Sept. 19 in Logan.
“It was nice to open the game with good energy in all phases,” stated Head Coach Matt Straight. “We made some adjustments and kept the pressure on the entire game.”
Brodie Davis threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns, with Crosby Yoder being the top target with nine receptions (195-yards) and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Wade Hawkins (6.0 tackles), Tyson Jenkins (4.0 tackles), Luke Walski (3.5 tackles) and Carson Edney (3.5 tackles) led a solid defensive effort for the Panthers.
“Hopefully, we found some momentum going into the second half of the season,” Straight concluded. “We’ve had so much adversity already, we needed a sound win.”
Up Next (Sept. 26): Logan-Magnolia (1-1, 3-1) will be at West Monona this week as Class A, District 8 play continues.
