Defense lifts Panthers past Vikings
Logan-Magnolia held off numerous late game attacks to pull of a 26-20 season opening win over AHSTW on Aug. 28 in Logan.
“We expected a battle going in, and it was,” stated Head Coach Jack West. “It wasn’t pretty by any means, but our kids fought to the end.”
Defensively, Crosby Yoder, Liam Lease and Max Wingert (1 TD) all had interceptions for the Panthers. Ashton Peszulik (7 tackles), Yoder (7 tackles) and Keenan Kuhlman (6.5 tackles) led a strong defensive effort.
“It was great to get the win, but we still have a lot to clean up,” West concluded. “We saw a lot of great things in the opener, now we build and improve.”
Up Next (Sept. 4 / Sept. 11): Logan-Magnolia (1-0) will be at Missouri Valley on Sept. 4, and host Council Bluffs St. Albert on Sept. 11.
