Correction: Russ Meadows on Lori White Ruling

Last week we ran an extensive story about the Lori White VS Missouri Valley ruling. We neglected to include Council Member Russ Meadows’ comments. They are printed here in full:
Thanks for reaching out. I wasn't on the council when most of this took place, so I can't really speak to all the decisions that were made at the time.
I respect the court's decision, and I do feel bad for Lori and what she has gone through. What bothers me most is she feels people were against her or that she was treated unfairly. I don't want anyone in our community to feel that way. At the same time , I realize there were two sides to the situation , and I feel for everyone involved.
Going forward, I think it is important that we can all learn from situations like this and continue to make sure everyone is fair and consistent. I am not interested in pointing fingers or taking sides. I am interested in doing what's best for the city of Missouri Valley and all our residents going forward.
These are my thoughts as an individual council member.
