City of Dunlap May 14, 2025 Mayor Knickman called the regular council meeting to order on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 7:04pm in the Council Chambers, City Hall pursuant to law with the following council members present: Bonsall, Schauer, Murphy, Wingrove, Gunia. Motion by Gunia second by Wingove to approve the agenda. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Bonsall second by Schauer to approve April 9 minutes. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Bonsall second by Wingrove to approve payment of bills. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Wingrove second Schauer to approve Building Permits; Bob Klaahsen-cement. All in favor, motion carried. Girl Scout, Sophia Malone gave and update on the garden and asked about having Paws in the pool again this year. Joyce Cogdill gave the Fire Department update. Jill Schaben from DCDC gave an update on projects. Motion by Gunia second by Murphy to approve the pickle ball court location. All in favor, motion carried. Motion be Wingrove second by Schauer to approve the 4th of July street closures Iowa Ave/Park. All in favor, motion carried. Paula Evans gave the Library Report. Motion by Wingrove second by Bonsall to hire Life Guards. All in favor, motion carried. Mayor Knickman wanted the Council to go look at a tree stump at 8th & Montague before the next meeting. Chief Miller gave the Police Report. Councilman Mike Gunia discussed his concerns on through traffic by the Athletic Fields, people are going to fast. Councilman Schauer spoke about putting a housing task force together. Motion by Gunia second by Wingrove to put a shade structure down at the Youth Complex. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Wingrove second by Bonsall to adjourn at 8:07pm. All in favor, motion carried. These minutes will be approved at the next regular council meeting.
