Celebrate the Hills Art Winners

 

Joe Cooper, Art Instructor at Logan-Magnolia schools, was the honorary judge at “Celebrate the Hills” Art Show in early October.

 

He wrote, “I grew up in a small town in Big Springs of western Nebraska, just a few miles from Colorado. I went to college at University of Nebraska at Kearney and experienced a good five years in Kearney receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree – K-12 Art Education.”

 

“I have been a secondary art teacher for 24 years, and have loved the ride. In my spare time I most like painting, golfing, hiking, and recently pickleball. I feel fortunate to

live in the Midwest, surrounded by great people. I am getting to know this area more and

more and have a great appreciation for its beauty.

 

First place went to William Vlcek, Missouri Valley, for his work know as “Conjuring the Cosmos” which features hidden images within the piece.

 

Second place by Pam Cates, Missouri Valley, was awarded the red ribbon for her lovely

“Sunset at the Overlook”.

 

“Prayer From the Past”, which was painted by William Vlcek, Missouri Valley received third place.

 

The coveted “Judge’s Award” was awarded to Pam Cates, Missouri Valley for her “View From McIntosh Point” which you will recognize if you have ever hiked that hill!
