Posted

Name: Brandon M. Doiel

City/town: Rural Mondamin

Candidate for: County Sheriff

Explain who you are:

I was born and raised in Omaha, Neb. until my parents, Michael and the late Margaret Doiel, moved our family to an acreage located southeast of Missouri Valley in 1992. I graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1994. I married Amy Stolz in 1999. Her parents are Randy and Colleen Stolz of rural Missouri Valley. Amy and I have two children, Hayden and Ashlyn. Both are currently graduating from college this year. We live on an acreage located northwest of Magnolia and we are proud to call Harrison County our home.

Why did you run for this position?

I am campaigning for the position of Harrison County Sheriff because I want to continue my career within a position to be able to provide the residents of Harrison County with the safety and reassurance they deserve. A place where there is less crime, drugs and violence for our citizens. I am focused on honoring our commitment to excellence as sheriffs and deputies have a primary duty to contribute to the safety and well-being of the citizens by upholding the laws. We understand that our profession is one in which we are expected to morally and ethically set an example 24-hours a day for the community in which we live and work. The seven point star with the Sheriff seal, that we wear on our chest, represents our loyalty and trust to the justice system and the people we represent. I vow to continue this commitment to the residents of Harrison County.

What from your background qualifies you for this position?

I believe my training and hands-on experiences during my 20-year career within law enforcement has provided me with the qualifications to continue to hold the position of Harrison County Sheriff. I have worked diligently to improve processes for the betterment of the Sheriff 's Office to become a stronger unit. I have also had the opportunity to work with many great law enforcement officers, jailers and dispatchers during my career and have gained a great deal of knowledge from these experiences. I have worked under two previous sheriffs and would also continue to use some of their strategies to provide services for our residents.

What are your goals if elected?

My goals are to build upon the strong foundation the Sheriff Office currently upholds and continue to bring forth ideas to keep our beautiful county a better and safer place to live. I will also continue to refine community and law enforcement relations in the right direction and implement strategies to fight crime within our county. In November 2020, I was elected as the Harrison County Sheriff in the 2020 election. I am now running for re-election as Harrison County Sheriff in the 2024 election and I would greatly appreciate your vote.
