Submitted by Logan Visioning Committee

The Logan Visioning Committee has announced that Brittany Freet has been selected as the Grand Marshall for the 2026 Fourth of July parade in Logan on Saturday.

"Brittany Freet has served as the Harrison County Veterans Affairs and General Relief Director since January 2019, helping veterans, their families, and community members access and navigate the benefits, resources, and support available to them. As a U.S. Navy veteran, she is passionate about advocating for veterans and serving those who have served our nation.

Military service is a proud long-standing tradition in Brittany’s family. Her husband serves with the Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Refueling Wing in Sioux City, and their oldest son, Sean, serves in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief in Texas. Together, Brittany and her husband stay busy supporting their two younger daughters, who attend Logan-Magnolia Community School and are active in athletics, 4-H, and Girl Scouts.

In addition to her professional role, Brittany is active in her community as a member of the Iowa Women Veteran Advocates , The American Legion and volunteers with Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Troop 488, helping inspire leadership and service in the next generation.

When she is not serving veterans or volunteering, Brittany enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her family. Her life reflects a deep commitment to service, patriotism, family, and community."
