Andrea Margaret McWilliams, 77, died on May 20, 2024, at her home in Logan. She was born May 31, 1946, to Herluf Ejvind and Vivian (Skibsted) Pedersen in Storm Lake. Andrea was baptized on July 14, 1946, and confirmed May 1, 1960, at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. She grew up in and around Newell and graduated from Newell-Providence High School in 1964. She attended Wayne State College and graduated with a BAE in 1969.

Andrea married Richard Brady on Aug. 26, 1967, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. They moved to Logan in 1970, where Richard taught High School Art. To this union three children were born: Tiffane, Kristin and Chad. Andrea married David Arthur McWilliams on Oct. 29, 1988, at Logan Christian Church. Andrea belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tuesday Morning Bible Study, Altar Guild and Fellowship Committee. She also belonged to Chapter DP, P.E.O. and the SOS Federated club. Andrea worked for Harrison County Abstract Co, Wayne Kirk Surveying, Schemmer Designs, Harrison County Engineer and Perfection Learning. She retired from Perfection Learning January of 2010. Andrea enjoyed being outside with birds, flowers and nature. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, handcrafts, reading and especially spending time with her family and friends. Her heritage was Danish and she and Tiffane took a trip to Denmark in 2009. She took up learning the Danish language when she was 74. She also enjoyed Danish plates, dishes, designs and crafts.

Andrea is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art McWilliams; former husband, Richard Brady; stepson in-law, Keith Martin; stepson, Larry McWilliams; and brother-in-law, Willis Ripke. She is survived by her three children, Tiffane (Bobby) Cassady of Des Moines, Kristin (Kevin) Barnum of Omaha, Neb. and Chad (Mary) Brady of Hornick; three grandsons, SFC Tyler (Kylee) Clark, Joshua Brady and Mar Mawa; two special grandsons, Austin Haner and SPC Adam Haner; two great-granddaughters, Amari and Avery Clark; stepdaughter, Judy Martin of Mapleton; stepdaughter-in-law, Linda McWilliams of Pisgah; step-grandchildren, David McWilliams, Danny (Lori) McWilliams, Drew McWilliams, Julie (Ryan) Erickson and Jeff (Jennifer) Martin; 12 step-great-grandchildren, Makayla Muthersbaugh and Megan McWilliams, Brandon McWilliams, Zoey, Zyzek, and Zack McWilliams, Brooks, Brady, Brynn and Bryce Erickson and Chase and Alexis Martin; sisters, Darnell Ripke of Storm Lake and Pamela (Harry) Horne of Houston, Texas; special friends, Melissa and Ed Fricke; and many other families and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Logan. Rev. Daniel Steeb presided over the service. The musicians were Dona Emswiler, Rick Powell and Angela Cyza. The musical selections were “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and congregational hymns, “Borning Cry” and “What Wonderous Love is This”. The pallbearers were SFC Tyler Clark, Joshua Brady, Mar Mawa, Kevin Barnum, Bobby Cassady and Austin Haner. The honorary pallbearer was SPC Adam Haner. Andrea’s final resting place is at the Newell Cemetery.
